A Comprehensive Program

A comprehensive hospital-based program built around the needs of the individual

At Cascade Behavioral Health near Seattle, Washington, we offer the continuum of care for addiction recovery: Acute Medically-based Detox, Inpatient Rehabilitation and Outpatient Treatment as well as AA meetings and Magic Works Alumni meetings. Patients benefit from an innovative substance abuse program that combines the best of inpatient and outpatient care. Because we offer such a broad range of options, the program can be customized for each patient to meet his or her individual needs. In addition, our intimate care setting allows us to provide more personal attention and to get to know patients and their families on a first name basis. In fact, patients often see the same counselors throughout the entire program.

Detox

Medically-assisted detoxification

The complications of withdrawal are best managed in an inpatient program, under the direction of a physician. In Cascade’s inpatient detoxification unit, patients are closely monitored during the withdrawal process by our medical director and a team of nurses and counselors. We admit patients 24-hours a day on an emergent basis.

Inpatient Addiction Treatment

Inpatient treatment for drug & alcohol addiction

This 21 to 28-day program is designed to optimize care with minimal disruption to patients’ lives. Treatment includes individual counseling, group therapy, workbooks, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing programming, and optional AA meetings. The focus is on building a sober support network, anticipating potential relapse scenarios, and creating strategies for staying clean and sober.

The Rehab unit at Cascade Behavioral Health includes an interdisciplinary team consisting of physicians, nurses, and chemical dependency counselors who collaborate to provide care for patients after completion of detox from alcohol and narcotic substances. The Rehab Unit provides medical stabilization after completion of detox for adult patients (> 18 years of age) on a voluntary basis.

Unit-based programming is designed and tailored to meet the individual needs of patients receiving care for substance abuse, and patients are encouraged to partner with the interdisciplinary team in their care. Family, friends, and other supportive resources in the patients’ lives are encouraged to provide needed support and assistance to aid in the successful recovery of our patients. Unit-based programming includes groups aimed at assisting patients in developing necessary coping skills for relapse prevention, medication education, recreational therapy, coping skills, and those skills necessary for successful reintegration into the community after discharge.

Patients admitted to the Rehab Unit are evaluated upon admission and reassessed on a continuous basis throughout their hospitalization. A holistic approach is used to assess patients.

  • History of present illness/substance abuse
  • Physical assessment
  • Risk and safety assessment

Success Is Possible

I entered the program at Cascade with trepidation and fear about what to expect. I came out of the program with a great deal of respect for the facility and its staff, as well as the tools I needed to cope with life.
