Partial Hospitalization Program

The partial hospitalization program at Connections – Bellevue is the optimal setting for adults who no longer need the round-the-clock monitoring of an inpatient or residential program but still require intensive support. Our PHP serves adults who are struggling with mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety disorders, the effects of trauma, and grief and loss.

When you participate in the PHP at our outpatient center in Bellevue, Washington, you will follow a highly structured therapeutic schedule. You can expect to take part in services for about five hours a day, five days a week for about three weeks, though the actual length of program participation depends on your progress and needs.

Group therapy is the primary method of care used in our PHP and can include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) approaches. Our expert team may also recommend experiential therapy, individual therapy, medication management, and basic medical care depending on your specific circumstances.

Intensive Outpatient Program

We offer two intensive outpatient programs at Connections – Bellevue: one for adults who have a mental health disorder and one for adults who have a substance use disorder.

Our mental health-focused IOP uses evidence-based methods, including CBT, DBT, ACT, and mindfulness, while our addiction-based IOP integrates methods such as CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing.

Adults who take part in the mental health IOP at our Bellevue, Washington, outpatient center attend treatment three hours a day, three to five days per week. Our addiction IOP meets for three hours a day, three days per week.

Typical length of stay in our IOPs is 21-30 days, but the actual amount of time each person spends in one of the programs will depend on their needs and progress. Like with our PHP, group therapy is the primary treatment method we use in our IOPs, though you may take part in experiential therapy, individual therapy, or family therapy if your care team recommends these services.

Traditional Outpatient Services

Not everyone needs the structure or intensive support of a PHP or IOP. Traditional outpatient therapy is an ideal option for adults who need ongoing support after completing an addiction recovery program.

Adults who take part in traditional outpatient services at Connections – Bellevue meet one-on-one with a licensed substance use disorder professional (SUDP). Most of our patients who seek traditional outpatient therapy at our center in Bellevue, Washington, are continuing the work they have done at a higher level of care, but others may start their recovery journey directly at the traditional outpatient level.

Wherever you are in your recovery, our team of compassionate professionals is here to help you determine how to best address your needs and meet your goals.
